Jonathan Arnott, 24, from Sheffield, will address the UK Independence Party Conference in London on Saturday October 8th
PRESS RELEASE

For Immediate Release – 14.45 hours 6th October

Jonathan Arnott, 24, from Sheffield, will address the UK Independence Party Conference in London on Saturday October 8th.

Recently appointed as the party’s local elections co-ordinator, he will emphasise the importance of a greater UKIP presence in the local community as well as in local elections.

He will attack the average 121% rise in Council Tax over the last 12 years, saying that this gives people “121 reasons to vote for the UK Independence Party at next year’s local elections”.

He will also claim that the decline in voter turnout is because people don’t think they can genuinely influence decisions at local level. It is UK Independence Party policy to allow the public to call a referendum on important local issues.

The UK Independence Party is expected to field a significantly increased number of council candidates in Sheffield in the May 2006 local elections.
