An open letter to Tony Blair : Anti-social behaviour
|
Dear Prime Minster
I wonder if I might prevail upon you to consider a non-party issue which I feel can only be resolved by your personal intervention.
It is now public policy to put anti-social, dysfunctional families into low priced residential areas. These areas are usually privately owned, terraced style accommodation inhabited by ‘hard working’ but low paid citizens or sometimes pensioners. Their properties are kept in immaculate condition and although inexpensive, respectable and hitherto pleasurable to live in.
Since this policy of moving these families about, spreading them through these communities a whole swathe of middle England is in despair.
I visit people in my Yorkshire and Lincolnshire towns who have windows and doors barred. Who live in constant fear. People afraid to give their names to the local press in case of retaliation. Honest, working people, prisoners in their own homes. One of these families can destroy the lives of whole streets sometimes several streets.
The police, whose morale is rock bottom, are not interested. Yobs have taken over the streets. In desperation people have turned to me in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire because they feel their human rights have gone and it is now a ‘European’ problem.
I wish you could take some time out to visit these people. It is my experience that the average Briton accepts Jews and Arabs have fought each other for hundreds of years and will continue to do so. It is very sad. But here, Prime Minister, is where you are needed. Your own back yard is in disarray.
Please, I beg you, do not point us in the direction of some ineffectual quango or a toothless politically correct ‘community’ policeman. Get on and do something practical for people who are not fortunate enough to have a policeman permanently stationed a their front door.
Yours sincerely
Godfrey Bloom
