Imperial Measures

"Will the Commission please define the word indefintely, in reference to comments made by the Commissioner Verheugen to the European Parliament's Industry and Trade Committee on May 2nd 2007, when he stated that "dual marking" of goods in both imperial and metric measurements could continue "indefinitely"? Will the Commission confirm that in the light of these comments that those aspects of the Measuring Instruments Directive (2004/22/EC) that forbid the use of the traditional "Crown mark" to measure the pint on a beer glass will under that directive also be allowed to be used "indefinitely" as a measurement rather than as decoration?"
